General Description:
The feature would allow a user to open a dialogue in the mobile CRM version through which they could take a pic of the person's business card after which the CRM would parse the information from the Business Card into an Account, contact or lead in the CRM with the corresponding name, number, etc. There is an existing company who offers this functionality called: https://www.scanbizcards.com/ whose website offers CRM Integration and API tools wiht the comment:
ScanBizCards offers integration with leading CRMs including Salesforce and more. You can easily attach contacts / scans to new or existing customer accounts in real-time at events.
Feature could be standalone or integrate with the above 3rd party tool. Feature would not necessarily be needed in the desktop version as the main functionality is geared towards mobile usage and would lend itself to the Magaya CRM Mobile version.
Current Functionality
Manual data entry in both desktop and mobile sites or CSV upload of lists data as new Leads. All new data of this type should flow in as a Lead.
Future Functionality
Leverage the ScanBizCards tool to allow a user to open a dialogue in the mobile CRM version through which they could take a pic of the person's business card after which the CRM would parse the information from the Business Card into an Account, contact or lead in the CRM with the corresponding name, number, etc.
Two initial pieces:
Scan card to new Lead
A new option could be added to the "New Lead" screen called "SCAN BUSINESS CARD" which would open the above functionality and parse the values into the "New Lead" screen.
Possible design solution:
Scan Card and append to Contact or Account. Here we could add the above SCAN button to the Account next to the Delete button, the user would be presented with same screen to scan the business card after which the information would be appended to the DOCUMENTS area of the Account and the information parsed into the Create Contact screen avalable today.
