Support Special Characters for Part Numbers in Flow WMS

Flow WMS currently supports Part Numbers and Tracking Numbers that include only the following characters:

space, +, *, =, _, ., ( ), /, &, -, a–z, A–Z, 0–9

Because of these validation rules—and the limitations of the standard Code 39 barcode format, customers cannot import or use part identifiers containing additional special characters (such as #, $). This impacts workflows that rely on part numbers with extended symbols for compliance or operational traceability.

The proposed enhancement expands character support in the Flow WMS app, aligned with Supply Chain, by enabling extended barcode standards (such as Extended Code 39) and broadening validation rules. This will allow customers to use part numbers with a wider range of special characters across imports, manual entry, and scanning workflows.
